I had to interrupt my quiet time today for this very important matter.
As you may or may not know (depending on if you read my blog or not) I have been having my quiet times during my lunch break at work…
On Wednesdays and Fridays I have to cover for the receptionist at the front desk because she is off on those days (lucky her). Well, you know me, I make sure that on those days I lay my Bible on the desk so that no one can read the cover of the book I am reading. Don’t worry, it doesn’t work… it still looks like a Bible =0) .
Today, as I sat here trying to read, a man at my work walks by and says… ” Are you reading the Bible?” (Crap, I say to myself)… ” Yes I am” I replied. “Do you always read the Bible“… “Everyday” I said. “Are you in a Bible Study?“, “Well Sort of, I go to church on Sunday’s and I am in a Care group that studies from the Bible and I study it when i read it”, “Do you preach Bible verses to your husband when you get mad at him.. Thou Shalt Not….”, “Ha-Ha, no, I try to preach them to myself so I don’t speak to him wrongly or so that I am doing and thinking what I know is right”, “Why?“, “Because I believe it… Why are you asking me all of these questions?”, “I am profiling you“, “Your profiling me? Well let me explain something to you… (At this point I share my testimony wit him)… and ever since then I have been living for the Lord. My life is different and I know that it is nothing that I have done but what God has done and does through me”, He stands there with a stare on his face… “Well… I know that someone is driving the car and it ain’t me!”
HaHa. Awesome!!
I pray all the time that God would give me opportunities to share my faith or talk to someone about God at work. Reading at work is not only serving me and helping em to grow in godliness, through these times it is giving me other opportunities to be a witness at work… This is just one more example of how I know that I am at this job for a reason. As much as it really bothers me and drains me and causes me to sin (haha), these particular instances are why God has placed me here.
