I THINK I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT!

Have you ever wondered why some people try out for musicals or the new American Idol when really, they are terrible singers? It has always perplexed me! Well, I now know the answer!

Just this past weekend I did a little Karaoke with my in-law Josh for his Aunts birthday party (If you have ever heard me sing, you should be laughing right now, if you have not… I’m laughing for you). Just for fun, we did our own rendition of Summer Nights from the Grease sound track. Amanda can vouch for this…

After I was done singing and making a fool out of myself, I walked back to my table to have a seat. Not one but TWO people came up to me and told me how great I did and they had no idea I could sing. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I looked at them and started laughing like they were joking, oh but they weren’t. They were being completely serious! I nicely replied: “WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WEREN’T YOU LISTENING?”, each of them replied: “of course, it was so nice”. Ryan and I just looked at each other and laughed. I am still baffled. Well, not completely baffled because these two people happen to be related to my mother-in-law and if you know her at all you could understand how these people might have possibly heard what they heard.

So, if  you have the drive and  desire to be the next “star of the play “or the next American Idol, no matter how terrible you think you are, or you actually are, there are those select few who think you’re the cream of the crop. Bless their hearts.

  1. Amy Long tells me that she likes to hear me sing out to the Lord (like in church, etc). But, when I have sung other songs (in the car, house, etc), she has said things like, “Michele, stick to singing to the Lord.”
