We left around 7pm (Lucy’s bedtime, so she would sleep on the drive down) to go to OCMD, at 8pm Ryan started telling me a story about how he scared his best friend the other night… well, the story scared Lucy too and she cried the rest of the drive. I finally got her to fall back to sleep 20 minutes before we reached OC… then she woke up again once we had to go inside… and she pretty much cried the entire rest of the night. It was not looking good for the rest of the week.
BUT, God was kind and Lucy slept well, and on schedule the whole week! Yay!
We had a really nice and relaxing time. My sister Emily stayed with us also so she could babysit if wanted to go out after Lucy’s bedtime. A couple of our friends happened to be staying the same week as us so we were able to spend time with them as well… that was really really nice.
The weather was great, the car didn’t break down this year, I didn’t lose any expensive sunglasses this year… all around.. it was a wonderful vacation! Wait… I did break my camera . The first or second day it got clobbered by a wave so I wasn’t able to take hardly any pictures. So sad. So, OTHER THAN THAT, it was wonderful. hehe.
Lucy did not love the beach. She did not hate it, but she didn’t love it. The water was too rough at times so she didn’t really get to get in. She did like eating the sand. Yuck. She likes the pool. In fact, she loved it so much she contracted “Summer Time Virus” (don’t ask me what it is actually called because I have no idea). She played the whole time in the pool, and in the baby pool. The next morning her lips looked really swollen and I thought it was just sunburn, then the next day I noticed blister looking things on her lips, I tried to look at her throat to see if it was a sign of Strep and the white spots were all over her mouth, all around her cheeks and lips… so I called her Dr. and she said that it is a common thing in children, especially children who go to public pools, there is nothing you can do, it will just run its course. So, she still has it, along with a really cute raspy voice.
Even when you have a really nice vacation, it is still really nice to come back home… to sleep in your own bed… Unless you come home to a house that smells like I don’t know what… oh wait, that’s right… there was a GIANT mouse caught in a mouse trap we left out “just in case” and it must have been there since we left because it was nasty and stuck to our kitchen floor… eeeewwwww! It smells much better now, but that was not exciting to come home to! There have not been any other mice since. Thank goodness!!
I believe that is all we have to report. Here are a few pics I was able to get before the death of my camera.
