loves it

Lucy loves her binky.

She loves taking baths.

She likes playing in Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

She likes Eskimo kisses.

She likes singing while Mommy sings (probably to tune Mommy out).

She likes dogs.

She likes being nakey.

And she likes getting dressed. Only baby I have ever met that actually laughs when you put clothes over her head.

Lucy DOES NOT like her Car Seat.. at all!

She does not like when her binky falls out.

She does not like it when you “ignore” her.

She does not like it if she is hungry and you try to trick her by giving her the binky… she knows.

She doesn’t like being cradled anymore, because she is a big girl and wants to sit up and look around. =0(

It is so interesting to me how someone so young already has preferences.

Ya know, it takes me longer to pick our Lucy’s outfits than it does to pick out my own clothes. I absolutely LOVE getting her dressed. She is like a living baby doll. If you know me, you know how much I loved baby dolls when I was younger… uh, a dream come true! hehe.

I love trying to make her giggle/laugh. It sure is funny the things people will do to get babies to laugh. I was at my in-laws the other night and they were making funny noises and faces at her to get her to smile… if you didn’t know what was going on you may have thought they were a little strange.

Ryan makes fun of me because I am with her all day and then when she goes to bed I spend my night looking at pictures of her. I didn’t realize I was doing that until he started commenting about it, but it is true, I just think she is so cute and can’t help that her pictures are just as cute.

When she gets up from her nap today, we are going outside and taking a nice long walk since it is sooo nice. I love walking and I can’t wait to take her outside with me and show her the world she hasn’t seen before.

3 Months Old!

I love her, I love her, I love her.

Yahoo! We survived three whole months! It feels like I just brought her home, but at the same time it feels like she has been around forever.

I have learned so much in just three months although it is amazing  how much you actually already know… good ol’ motherly instincts.

Look at her… isn’t she such a doll?!!

I have it so easy. I know that all babies are not as good as she is. I do not know why I have been so blessed. I mean, there are definitely difficult times (like sleep training, nursing and growth spurts) but in general I would say that she is the best baby that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Ha-Ha. OK… I do feel that way, but I am sure I have probably met other babies who are just as sweet and “easy”.

Funny.. I was reading in my weekly baby update email that at three months old the of fussiness of a baby usually drops off significantly  but, she has been fussier this week than she has in her whole life (haha- all 3 long months). So I looked up kellymom.com  and she says that Lucy is going through her three month growth spurt and the fussiness and strange routine could last up to a week. Don’t you think the other email I got would have/should have done their research a little better?

Bad news… When baby has growth spurt, Mommy gets more hungry. Gr. I was thinking that there was something wrong with me but then I read that this is what happens when babies have growth spurts. 1. Am ever going to lose this baby pudge in my belly? 2. We don’t have enough food for me to eat more.

So, Lucy is in the beginning stages of laughing. She is starting to grab at things and bring them to her mouth. And she fits into all of her super cute three month clothes!! Obviously, the clothes are my favorite part.

Ryan is such a good Dad and a wonderful Husband. He is so supportive and really helps me out a lot. He loves Lucy and loves to spend time with her, even though she is a bit of a lump still. Having her has made my love for Ryan grow stronger. I didn’t think that was possibly since Ryan is the best looking, smartest, funniest, stinkiest person EVER.

Speaking of lump… she is starting to be able to hold her head up pretty much by herself now so we whipped out the Bumbo the other day and she loved it. She looked like such a big girl. I think she was really proud of herself.

So, I really don’t want to have anymore children because I just love her so much, it wont be fair to any of our other kids.

Storytime with Miss Julie

Yesterday Lucy and I accompanied Hannah and Annie at White Marsh Mall for Story-time. It was so cute, and so much fun.

*I am excited about all of the fun activities I am learning about that you can take you kids to.

Yesterdays event was music with “Uncle Pete” (kind of creepy name for a children’s musician…), so cute. Lucy and I have been listening to a lot of the songs he played on the internet so that was cool. I think she really liked it… haha.

Hands Off My Blankie!

I will admit it. I still sleep with a blankie. I will probably NEVER give it up.

Ryan threatens to throw it away but I know he actually wont go through with it.

Lucy’s hand-eye coordination is starting to develop and she is grabbing more things. That’s right, including MY blankie. She looked like she was getting a little too comfortable with it so she will not be allowed to touch it anymore… even if she is freezing in a room and it is the only thing to cover her up with. Okay, maybe then she can have it… but that is the only situation.

It seemed so natural to her. Weird. She picked it up and did just what I do with it… rub between the fingers and then rub the face. So soft. So comfy. Ahh… makes me feel sleepy and warm just thinking about it…

Another Snow Day

I LOOOOVE snow (sorry to all of you snow haters)! The snow brings back some of my favorite childhood memories and allows me to create some of our own. But what I really like? Laziness!

Here are some over due updates…

Lucy had her two month check-up this week (I know, 10 weeks already!). The Doc says she is in the 50% for height and weight (11 lbs and 23 1/2 in) and in the 75% for head circumference… he said not to worry, it just means she is smarter than most babies. Ha-Ha.

She is starting to “talk” a lot more often now. It is seriously the cutest thing. We conversate quite regularly now. Just this morning she was yelling and talking to the flowers on her changing table. Just darling.

I never thought I would go through more changes of clothes in one day than I would diapers.

She is only waking up once a night now (has been for weeks actually)… amen! What a good sleeper she is (usually)! If you need anything around 3 or 4am, I will be up . I am still trying to get the napping schedule down… we are struggling with that a little.

Okay, here are some super cute pics from the past month. Enjoy!!

Sleep, or lack there of.

If you don’t get enough sleep you are more likely to suffer from memory loss, impairs your ability to problem solve, trouble dealing with stress; irritability, unable to support a healthy immune system and the worst of all… bags- under eye bags.

That explains it.

Actually, Lucy sleeps really well for an 8 week old baby, however, her sleeping well still means Mommy sleeps less. Oh how I can’t wait to sleep through the night.

2010 Update

I will just get right to it, not sure when Lucy will be waking…

… too late, she just woke up.

Ok, we’re back… time to upload some pictures.

PLAY DATE!

A few weeks ago we had our very first Play Date, it was stinkin’ cute! Here are a few pictures of our day out…

Lucy, not really diggin' it.
Ella: "You better stop that whining or I'll knock you out!"
Ella: "Rachel, you better keep it quiet as well."
Lucy: "Fine, I'll just suck on my binky!"
